I just love home made pizzas rather than store bought, as
i can customise my own way and also make it crispier enough to suit my taste
buds.. So whenever i plan to bake my pizza at home, i always go for a fresh
home made pizza sauce, as it just enhances the taste of pizza even more.. I
like my sauce chunky and not smooth.. It gives a texture and bite to my
pizza... I have learnt this recipe from my sister-in-law and have been
following ever since.. And this pizza sauce you can use it in your own way...
Use as a spread on pizza or as a spread on sandwich or even in any of your
chapati rolls.. Kids would love to gorge on this and adults like it equally..
Ingredients:
2tbsp olive oil
1 onion finely chopped
1 capsicum finely chopped
3 tomatoes blanched in hot water for 10mins, peeled and
chopped
2-3 cloves garlic crushed
2tbsp tomato sauce
Salt to taste
1tsp oregano fresh or dried
1tsp red chilli flakes
1tsp red chilli powder
1tsp basil fresh or dried
Method: Heat oil in a pan. Add
onions and cloves and saute for 3-4mins till translucent.. Add in capsicum and
saute again for 2mins.. Add in tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, red chilli powder,
red chilli flakes, oregano and basil.. Mix and cook covered on sim for good
10-12mins till all the water dries up.. Taste and adjust seasoning according to
preferences.. Once done off the gas and remove in a bowl.. Use it instantly or
store in air tight container in fridge for good 4-5 days..
